Parameter Optimization for an Underwater Optical Wireless Vertical Link Subject to Link Misalignments

We consider transmitter–receiver (Tx–Rx) parameter optimization for a vertical underwater wireless optical communication link under misalignment conditions. The Tx is assumed to use light-emitting diode, whereas the Rx uses silicon photomultiplier that allows high sensitivity. two typical application scenarios and investigate of parameters optimize performance in terms outage probability. derive accurate analytical expressions distribution channel attenuation accounting misalignments, which evaluation bit-error-rate probability without resorting costly Monte Carlo simulations. Through numerical results, we show discuss impact on different configurations various In particular, presented results significant improvement resulting from optimizing beam divergence field-of-view presence pointing errors.
